Theme: Diversity in a Globalized World: Co-existence and Cooperation

With the acceleration of globalization, cultural clashes and intensified regional and worldwide conflicts have apparently become one of the leading themes at the beginning of the 21st century. It is an era of opportunities, changes, disruptions and challenges. Better understanding of this diversified world is essential to national and world development and solidarity among all ethnic groups and nationalities. Through academic researches, inclusive data collection, innovative research methods, pedagogical innovations, and civic engagement, scholars from diverse backgrounds and disciplines work together to better understand this world around us. This conference invites research papers and panel/workshop proposals that address emerging diversity issues in the globalization era as well as related topics pertaining to China and world development from the perspectives of all disciplines in humanities and social sciences.

 

Submission Deadline:

Deadline: The submission deadline is August 31, 2016. We require that those whose paper abstracts are accepted submit their full papers no later than September 24, 2016.

Language: The conference will accept papers in both English and Chinese.
Required submission information: All paper abstracts or panel proposals must include the title, the author(s) or panel members, details of current position, the institutional affiliation, mailing address, phone number, and e-mail address for each author or panelist.

How to submit: Please submit your paper abstracts or panel proposals (300 words) using this online form. Papers that are accepted for presentation at the conference will be considered for publication in American Review of China Studies – the official journal of ACPSS. After the conference, the collection of the conference papers and abstracts will be published on CNKI (中国知网).

 

Conference Registration Fees:

ACPSS member with paper: $150

Non-ACPSS member with paper: $220

Student with paper: $80

Attendance with no paper: $240

In order to register with ACPSS member rate ($150), you must become an ACPSS member and pay a minimum of one-year membership fee ($50). Room rate: the discounted rate is $159/night ($182.45 after taxes and fees). Rooms are very limited in quantity so please book at your earliest convenience.
